Directions for Reform Laid by Tune Review on the Delivery of the NDIS

Published By Newly , 4 years ago

Carers Australia acknowledged the release of a review on the NDIS Practices and Procedure done by David Tune.

According to MaryReid, the Interim CEO of Carers Australia, the review just provided a clear path on how to deal with many issues and problems concerning the delivery of the NDIS.

She also affirmed that they hope that the document should be treated by the Government as a relevant and structured plan of action, similar to that of the Aged Care Legislated Review led by David Tune in 2017.

Among the major reforms done focused on streamline processes, language clarification, and provision of greater plan flexibility of participants. Aside from these reforms, Carers Australia also commended the family-centered approach that has been addressed. Moreover, the review included recommendations focused on organising services that support the strengthening of family resilience and cohesion.

Previous requests of the inclusion of higher benefits for family carers to have quality time with their family members have been rejected due to the grounds that it is not directly connected to the aspirations and goals of the patients.

NDIS just recognised the importance of providing family members to have a satisfactory break from the intensive and sustained provision of care. And this recognition is attributed to the review because of its major recommendations.
