Family and Friend Carers Accepted Labor’s Support

Family and Friend Carers Accepted Labor’s Support

Published By Newly , 4 years ago

2.7 million family and friend carers in Australia who are providing a valuable amount of care have it tough. They are facing a wide range of personal difficulties which includes social seclusion, extreme levels of stress, and the incompetence to merge work and care that affects both of their well-being and financial security.

There are lots of areas of government policy which have a direct effect on the well-being and future hope of carers.Ms. Ara Cresswell, CEO of Carers Australia, believes Labor has pledged to address the need for enough funding for special support services will give carers more room to manage their work-life balance. They have specifically mentioned an additional $22 million per year over 3 years from the Labor government, aside from the funding declared in the Federal Budget, will assure that the new national scheme for delivering various support services to carers will be sufficient to meet their needs.

They are also delighted that the challenges carers have engaging with Centrelink for salary support have also been discussed.

Most important thing is that the Labor Government would bring back the National Carer Strategy which was canceled in 2014.
