Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness

This module has been designed to equip you with an understanding of the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and help you to deliver culturally appropriate and safe services for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  

On completion of this module, it is anticipated that you will be able to:   

• explain what cultural awareness means
• understand the importance of historical truth-telling and acceptance 
• identify the impacts of colonisation on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• recognise the cultural determinants of health 

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion.
