Disability Support Worker
We are seeking compassionate and experienced support workers with a strong background in assisting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and Autism to join our team on Brisbane’s Southside S.I.L Houses in Macgregor and Coorparoo.
Qualifications & Experience- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or other relevant qualifications is preferred but not essential.
- Experience supporting individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and/or Autism is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
- Ability to follow strict dietary protocols and manage food security for individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to participant-specific support plans.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check is required prior to commencement.
- Availability for a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week, including nights and sleepover shifts.
- Open driver’s license and own transportation.
- Provide structured and routine-based support tailored to the specific needs of individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Autism.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs), with training provided as needed.
- Assist with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, and strict dietary management where required.
- Monitor and support sensory regulation needs for individuals with Autism.
- Facilitate community participation and engagement in safe and structured activities.
- Accurately document activities, progress notes, and incident reports in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and other key stakeholders to ensure person-centred support.
- Adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct at all times.
