  • : Programmed Care
  • : 08-Feb-2021
  • : Western Suburbs & Ipswich QLD

About the Role:

Programmed Health Professionals are a leading provider of health care staff in Australia. We are currently seeking 2x Disability Support Workers to work with one of our home care clients on an on-going basis. We need two carers who are extremely reliable and punctual, have strong work ethics and are pro-active.

Our disability client has a preference for fit/solid, male disability support workers due to the nature of the care required. Our client is a 51 year old male who is non-verbal, living with an intellectual disability as well as autism & anxiety. The client is based in Wacol and requires community access support 4 days a week. Shifts are ongoing and will be: Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri for 3 hours each day, commencing ASAP. (Total of 12 hours a week). Care will be 2:1 so you will be working with another carer for the duration of the shifts. All training will be provided on-site with the client's existing team of supports who have been working with him for over 5 years.

The work is community access/companionship care only (no personal care), and requires the Support Workers to meet at various locations within the community and sit with/accompany the client on outings. The client's Disability Support Team Leader will remain in the car for each outing as an additional support, whilst the two carers are with the client.

What you need to have:

  • Cert III or IV in Disability, Community, Aged Care Support or Individual Support
  • Minimum 6 months of recent disability experience
  • Experience working with or volunteering with young children is preferred
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Current Employee Blue Card
  • National Police Check (We can arrange one for you if required)

What we can provide to you:

  • Dedicated team available 7 days a week to support you
  • On-going roster provided
  • Great hourly rates paid weekly
  • Supportive and encouraging organisation
