About the role
Our Lifestyle Support Workers are at the heart of what we do, providing essential support to people living with disability in rural and regional communities. We are looking for people who live our values of: authenticity, lifelong learning, compassion, empowering, respectful, and innovative to join our amazing team in Logan, Ipswich and Eagleby. You will be providing support to people living with disability in their home or in the community. Duties can include providing assistance with daily living activities; personal care; transport; domestic assistance; and social and recreational activities.
About you
It is essential that you:
- Are kind, patient and empathetic and are willing to assist people with personal care
- Have hoisting and peg feeding experience, or a willing to be trained
- Are enthusiastic about assisting people living with disability to learn new skills and experience a life of their choice
- Have completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Hold a current blue and yellow card
- Have a current drivers licence and a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Are computer savvy, have a computer, smart phone or tablet and are able to document accurate notes about all support shifts
It is highly desirable that you:
- Hold a minimum Cert III in Disability / Individual Support / Aged Care
- Have experience supporting people whose behaviours might challenge our understanding
- Have experience supporting people who have a mental health concern through a community recovery model.
- Are available to work weekends and sleepover shifts
- Are willing to be flexible in your availability.
- Are available to work 10 hour shifts in accommodation support.
