Description: 1 hour PC and 2 hours DA. Frequency- Twice weekly- Mondays and Thursdays- Regular Speaks Italian (minimal English) – Italian-speaking staff required. Lives alone, supported by 9 very involved children who visit most days. Has a small friendly dog and cat – ensure pets are safely put away during visits. Mobility: Walks with a walking stick; personal alarm worn at all times. Notes: Staff must communicate in Italian to encourage cooperation and understanding. Be firm but gentle in prompting showering; Nancy may resist assistance. Record completion of cleaning personal care in the visit calendar on the kitchen wall, as Nancy occasionally forgets whether someone has been. Medical history: Early-stage dementia, chronic back and shoulder pain. Nancy has not been showering consistently and can be resistant to support, which affects hygiene, comfort, and overall wellbeing. Personal care tasks: Provide assistance with undressing and dressing. Prepare shower, adjust water temperature, and ensure safe use of the shower chair. Supervise and provide physical assistance during showering as required. Encourage and prompt Nancy firmly, while respecting her autonomy, to complete showering. Cleaning tasks: Kitchen: Clean bench, sink, appliances, wash dishes, and empty bins. Bathroom: Clean shower, toilet, sink, mirrors, and empty bins if any. Lounge / Dining: General tidying. Bedroom: Change bed sheets and tidy. General: Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and empty bins throughout the home. Mealtime Support: Prompt and assist Nancy to heat up her lunch meal at the end of the shift. Discuss tasks with Nancy as needed to ensure preferences and routines are respected and provide guidance or reminders to encourage participation where appropriate.
