Residential Nurse — Casual (Ashfield NSW)

As a residential nurse, you will provide clinical care, daily support and emotional reassurance to residents living in a community setting. This role offers flexibility, varied shifts and the chance to make meaningful differences in people’s lives while developing clinical skills across a broad range of care needs.

• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic effects, following medication charts and organisational policies.
• Perform clinical assessments, wound care, catheter and syringe driver management where required, and document findings accurately.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families and allied health to develop and update care plans tailored to resident needs.
• Provide end-of-life care with dignity, supporting both resident comfort and family communication.
• Respond to clinical incidents and emergencies calmly, escalate appropriately and complete required incident reporting.
• Maintain infection control practices and high standards of clinical governance and safety.
• Mentor and guide less experienced staff and support continuity of care across shifts.

• Highest Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Registration: Current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Licences and Checks: Full Australian Drivers Licence, current Police Check, and Working with Children Check.

• Clinical confidence across medications, wound management and routine nursing procedures.
• Strong communication skills to build rapport with residents, families and colleagues.
• Flexible approach to shifting demands and roster variability, with reliable time management.
• Compassionate, respectful and resilient under pressure; committed to maintaining resident dignity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team within an on-demand workforce model.
