The work you do, your areas of interest and reflection on your care & support practice will be the starting point for your continuing learning subscription, so subscribe and simply choose the right courses to meet your needs. It might be one of our ‘Look and Act’ toolkits, a leadership and management course, an ‘About Me’ video or one of the many resources aligned to the Aged Care Quality Standards.
ACLS has been providing continuing professional development to nurses and other care workers since 2004. We have delivered over 700,000 individual course enrolments and all of our learning resources are directly relevant for the work you do when caring for older people.
2. What type of courses do you offer?
We have courses that are interactive and include scenarios and 10 questions to check your knowledge. Others are videos that will take you about 15 minutes to complete.
We also have a growing library of resources that will optimise to your phone or other devices and are great for refreshing you knowledge about the many high risk illnesses and conditions that have a high negative impact on older people.
3. I need to get 20 CPD hours each year how ACLS eLearning help?
If the work you do or the people you provide nursing or other care to are older people then the ACLS suites will have learning resources relevant to your practice. Many of the ACLS resources have additional reading included to assist you to get your required hours and further expand your knowledge on the topic.

5. I am not very confident with doing online learning…

6. Should I get all of my CPD from ACLS?
The Nursing and Midwifery Board provides a list of what is accepted as CPD. Continuing professional development is intend to build on your knowledge and develop your competence, personal and professional attributes. The ACLS library is a good starting place. You could consider other learning opportunities through for example reflection, mentoring, workshops, case conferences.
7. How do I keep on track and not leave my CPD to the last minute?

8. Can I keep track of the requirements for CPD and other registration requirements in my HealthcareLink profile?
Yes, you can manage and record all the CPD learnings and outcomes on HealthcareLink CPD records profile. Please go to My Profile section under HealthcareLink portal, select "CPD Records"
9. I care for older people in hospital will the ACLS learning resources be useful for me?
Yes. There will be other CPD required for your role in the hospital setting but many of the ACLS learning resources will be of value and relevant. For example: Delirium, Pressure injuries, Antimicrobial stewardship, Sensory loss, Falls, Medication management, Open disclosure, Chemical Restraint.
