The Australian Aged Care System

The Australian aged care system provides subsidised care and support to older people in Australia. It is a large and complex system responding to the growing needs of Australians.

By completing this module, it is anticipated that you will be able to describe:

• the scope and purpose of the aged care system from a client perspective
• the key components of the aged care system and understand how they are connected
• how aged care is delivered in different settings and at different levels
• the legislation and policies which guide delivery of aged care

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion.
