The Hessel Difference
The Hessel difference is simple - we care. We care about you.
We care about the community in which we exist, and most importantly, we care to make a difference. This philosophy has been at the heart of our organisation from the beginning, and it remains our core value today.
From the moment you contact us, we will take the time to get to know you. We believe this is the only way to truly understand your needs and tailor solutions for you. We keep in touch, whether you are one of our care and support clients or one of our students, to make sure we're doing everything we can for you. We are always here for you.
We are not an agency. All our care & support workers, babysitters and nannies are our employees. We believe that making Hessel a great place to work will result in better care for our clients. If you decide you want to change your regular support worker, we find a suitable replacement for you without interruption to your scheduled services.
Our journey began in 1998 in the Adelaide home of our CEO and Founder, Tanya Cole. Frustrated with the lack of options for quality child care at home for her two young children, she decided to start a nanny agency. Tanya wanted to help other parents by taking away the confusion and difficulty of finding a nanny to care for their children at home.
As Tanya helped more families with child care arrangements at home, she began to uncover more needs. She felt compelled to expand Hessel's service offering to continue to support as many South Australian families as she could.
We have a team of over 300 staff, including nannies, babysitters, educators, disability support workers and allied health professionals. Tanya continues to steer the organisation and remains hands-on in the business that she built from the ground up.
