The beginnings of Total Support Services were born of an understanding of individual needs and a determination to meet them. In fact it all starts in the Australian Outback with Sandy Lidell - founder and Co-Director of Total Support Services - a helicopter crash, a very special client and a brave suggestion.

Decades ago Sandy was serving as a Support Worker for a unique character in the remote desert of northern Australia. The gentleman in question had become a paraplegic as the result of a helicopter crash and it was Sandy who had suggested the solution to his support needs - a 'fly-in, fly-out' service so that the man, despite his very remote situation, was never without the support he needed.

Despite this arrangement delivering great results, Sandy's then employer made the decision that it must end, and Sandy was left to break the news to her client. Unfazed, he suggested that Sandy should start her own business so that she could continue to offer him support services, make her own decisions and always be true to delivering support in the way she believed was best - carefully tailored top the needs of each individual. After a few days of deep pondering and discussions with her partner Matt, Sandy decided to take the plunge and start her own business. Total Support Services was born.
