The name Weeroona was chosen from Indigenous language and means ‘Resting Place' to reflect a place where people with disability and their families can come and take a breath and receive support.

Weeroona is a not for profit local community organisation registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and accredited against their standards. Weeroona is also registered as a charity and Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) with the Australian Tax Office (ATO).
