Profile Summary
Capecare is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2021. Our founders, Jack and Maud Ray would have been proud of the progress made and delighted with the plans for the future.
In the 1920's the Rays lived in Karlgarin, a small town in the wheatbelt region of Western Australia. In the early 1960's they sold their farm in Karlgarin and purchased 20 acres of beachfront land in Busselton. It was their vision to use the land for charitable purposes, specifically care of the aged.
Maud's brother was Monsignor Charles Cunningham, who was appointed Vicar General and Parish Priest of the Catholic Church in Albany in 1958. He later he became the inaugural chairman of Villa Maria Homes.
