Albury-Wodonga is a vibrant twin-city settlement, which is at once charming with its heritage and historical buildings, mixed with a bustling modern culture.  The two cities are separated geographically by the Murray River. Although there are two municipal and state governments operating here, the love of football and a sense of community keeps the region warmly united.

Albury-Wodonga enjoys a cozy spot with proximity to three major cities. The region lies 326 km north-east of Melbourne, 554 km south-west of Sydney and 340 km south-west of Canberra. Together, they cater to a population of approximately 90,000.

Uncommon for an inland city, Albury-Wodonga is not dependent on agriculture. Albury is home to the Norske Skog – a newsprint paper mill, an engineering plant which produces automatic transmissions for cars, a processing centre for the Australian Taxation Office, and many small enterprises. Wodonga is Victoria’s fastest growing regional city. It houses a lineup of key industries including construction, manufacturing, healthcare and social assistance, retail, business services and a variety of other trades.

Charles Sturt University and La Trobe University are located in the region. They offer degrees in business, arts, science, biosciences, nursing, and various allied health disciplines. Both Riverina and Wodonga Institutes of TAFE, have branches here. A campus of the UNSW Rural Clinical School of Medicine is present adjacent to the Albury Base Hospital.
